Mike D. Local music scene

Yes boys and girls.....it's difficult to make decent money...find fair club owners....and pull in a good crowd who don't mind trying to negotiate the police cruisers as they make their way home at the end of the evening. However, no karoake, DJ's, or sports bar can ever, ever replace the vibe that a group of competant musicians can create. Nice to see that you're still rockin after all these years, Kelly. Good job mate! Oh yeah, nice to see that Monte, that is, Big Monte, is doing well these day… Continue

Kelly Asay So I found this box...

Possibly the only real benefit to moving my office out of the house and into the detached office space, still here at home, was the discovery of a large box, an orange crate really of cassette tapes in various stages of decomposition. Many of the tapes wouldn't play, their tape disintegrating at the first twist of the reel from the years of heat, cold and wet cycles that over time they surely endured. But one of the ones that played turned out to be from a "development" project that I was part… Continue

Kelly Asay Grapes to Wine to Vinegar to...

This last weekend was a good one. We played a show at The Astoria Bar out in West Eugene, turned out to be one of our best performances to date, even with the mistakes; many of them mine. We had the pleasure of playing with Scott Austin's "Sea To City" band; what a refreshing take on indie music, you won't want to miss them if you get the chance. We also had a good friends band: Fulcrum on the bill, also a pleasure, good hard 90's era music with some amazing musicians. Thanks for a great show g… Continue

Kelly Asay Time doesn't flow, it stutters...

I had an interesting conversation this morning with a friend of mine from back in the Dynamix days. It was largely an observation of the non-fluid characteristics of time; once in awhile you have those days that blissfully last and last, then all of a sudden its three weeks later. That kind of non-fluid behavior. Yesterday was my youngest sons 14th birthday...that was a seriously non-fluid span of time. If you have kids you know what I mean. All of this conspired to remind me I hadn't posted an… Continue

Kelly Asay Amps, tone, and the pursuit of happiness

Not sure when it happened; IT being my infection with the "tone hunter" virus. I'm pretty sure it’s a virus since it doesn't respond to the "anti-biotic" of common sense thus far.

Now, I'm a bass player at the core, I love the bass and everything about it; from broom box t

Jeff Tunnell Front Page Blog Post

This is a test of how blogs go to the front page.

This is a picture of a Telecaster getting fixed. Making music is more than half the fun, but dorking with the equipment is fun too!

Jeff Tunnell Testing Out One More Aspect of Ning

I have a Wordpress blog at www.makeitbigingames.com and a couple at Blogger, monsterideas.blogpost.com for example. Both of those are powerful customizable blog solutions. I guess having blogs on this site is good, but I think I will explore using the RSS feeds off other sites instead.
